😂 that has to be too dumb even for the guys here who favor Russia.

@GeoPoliticTruthTalk best money ever spent.

Because of how mercenaries and volunteers are defined. Volunteers get regular pay and are part of regular chain of command.
3
@chester_bennington_ extreme lie.

@lardomcfarty9866 so you think that wasn't bs enough for multiple people to call it out independently? 🤣 You go and look at those "photages" again, my dude, and check for additional fingers while you're at it.
2
@nghiafghsi2 yes, it's completely wrong to call volunteers "mercenaries". There are very important differences in Geneva convention rights.
2
@lardomcfarty9866 same wording where? I just made one comment before you started speaking nonsense.
1
@Lone_Vistule a volunteer has regular pay and is part of regular chain of command. He doesn't work for free. A merc has special pay and their own command.
1
@torinjones3221 no, there's a real difference and different Geneva convention rights. It's not a choice of "connotations".
1
@arqueliossantiago7791 no, it's not about narratives, it's about organization and pay.
1
@TheNorseAmerican no, because it's true.
1
@TheNorseAmerican even if some are motivated by money, they get regular pay and are part of regular chain of command, so they're volunteers and not mercenaries.
1
@TheNorseAmerican there are volunteers in Russia yes, but Wagner and the other PMCs are clearly mercenaries. I know of no mercenaries/PMCs on the Ukrainian side.
1
@earhin_eraendhir there's a real legal difference that matters greatly for geneva convention rights, and the definition is that volunteers have regular pay and are part of the regular chain of command, while mercenaries aren't. Rssia uses the mercenary term incorrectly and it does so to incite war crimes to deter volunteers from joining Ukraine.
1
@earhin_eraendhir yes, if they are in the regular chain of command they're volunteers. But when e.g. Wagner fought in Bakhmut, they were mercenaries.
1
@kxr842 it's not the same thing.
1
@bluikkso volunteers get regular pay and are part of regular chain of command. Mercs have their own chain of command and usually far more pay.
1
@bluikkso so do regular soldiers. What's your point?
1
@03stmlax publishing and sharing identifiable pictures of prisoners of war is literally in breach of the Geneva Conventions. Unlike Rssia, Ukraine usually tries to not commit war crimes. That's why the faces are blurred.
1
@ИльяЗапольский-п3у sorry, I don't speak Russian.
1
@GeoPoliticTruthTalk true, except Russia is not winning. The west holds back.
1
@GeoPoliticTruthTalk NATO holds back.
