@dwl3006 I'm super familiar with the Russian narratives, sadly. The fighting in the Donbass had largely died down by 2022. It was calmer than ever. Zelensky had been elected to make additional efforts for peace, but those were rejected by Putin.
The Minsk agreements mandated the occupied territories staying part of Ukraine, and that foreign (Russian) troops and equipment should leave. Putin refused to abide by those agreements.
There was absolutely zero risk for Russia of Ukraine taking back those territories by force, because Ukraine was only provided some training in modern military doctrine by the West, but no weapons. Russia was far, far stronger obviously, with massive advantages in every branch of the military, and the entrenched defender's job is easier, so in early 2022, Ukraine had no means to make military gains.

@jasonjackson5696 "now think about WW II, Korea & Vietnam, how did they end?"
With variation: Complete military defeat, ceasefire stalemate and occupier exit, respectively. Russia will do what the US did in the Vietnam war, probably, "occupier exit".
"who were the “aggressors” in the Middle East? It’s all a matter of point of view, isn’t it?"
Not so in the Ukraine war. Here it's clear-cut Russian aggression against a sovereign country.
"it is a widely known fact that Russia is completely different than the former Soviet Union."
No, it's not widely known, or accepted. The regime internal balance of power and dynamics are not that different, with the security services in charge.
"Tucker talks about how beautiful the country is and that change began in the 90s, even he was shocked."
Yeah, a beautiful Soviet era subway, fairly clean streets and European-style shopping carts, apparently really shocking.
"It’s people like you that refuse to accept any change"
I accept good changes. I don't accept the return to an era of empires expanding territories by wars, and I don't accept dictatorships gobbling up smaller democracies.
"would rather simply hate Russia because it requires no thought"
I don't hate Russia. I see the enormous harm that its regime does to the world, undermining democracy and trust everywhere, besides waging unnecessary wars in which millions die.
"you can be in agreement with the rest of the zombies, thinking “evil empire“."
Again, it is an evil empire. There's no doubt about that. I don't know if you don't care about freedom and democracy, or if you don't understand what Russia is doing to it, but facts remain.
