@virajsh "you seem to fall into the trap laid out by the neocons very nicely"
Neocons like Biden, Xi and Scholz? Or was it simply Putin who wanted to make it his legacy to establish a greater united Russia? Occams razor favors that explanation. Putin has talked about it for more than a decade.
"How many more countries are we going to destroy by fighting proxy wars ?"
Are you saying we shouldn't defend democracies against dictatorships?
"Do you want to waste another 5Trilliion of tax payer money fighting proxy wars ?"
Why would a proxy war be anywhere near that expensive? Even if we send 10,000 javelins, that's only $2 billion. But still, if it costs us $120,000 per Ukrainian to rescue democratic governance, then I think that's cheap. Do you think democracy is worth anything, or is it all the same to you?
"We are being brainwashed - just like we were in Iraq, Syria, Libya etc."
Defending a democracy from senseless aggression from a dictatorship is very different from just trying to topple dictatorship. Don't you see how determined and motivated the Ukrainians are? In the other wars you mention, we were arguably occupiers, but here we are standing with the freedom fighters against the occupiers.
"Russia has already laid out what it wants .. a Ukraine which is neutral, not joining NATO, Donbass area will be independent."
It's not Russia, it's Putin. And Putin wants Ukraine "demilitarized" which leaves it vulnerable to one of the most militarized countries in the world, his own. And he wants a lack of security guarantees and neither EU membership nor NATO membership. And he wants to permanently have a recognized annexation of Donbass, Luhansk and Crimea, at least. And it's very clear from more than a decade of experience that Putin's promises and deals aren't worth the paper they are written on. Ukraine can't expect him to honor his part of any deal, so they REALLY need security guarantees that can only come from the West.
"It’s in Ukraine’s interest to agree to a lot of this."
Why would you say that? Why is it in their interest, except to avoid having their cities razed by a war criminal thug.
"And let me remind you - Russia Has 6000 nukes. So - are you prepared to escalate to a nuclear war ?"
We can't let Putin use nuclear blackmail. I hope calmer heads in Russia will prevail if he gives the order. I'm absolutely willing to help the Ukrainians win, despite Putin's threats.

@virajsh I read Cohen's wikipedia page now and one really has to ask oneself if he was paid or not. E.g. this hasn't aged well:
In an article for The Nation, published in the March 3, 2014 issue, Cohen wrote that "media malpractice" had resulted in the "relentless demonization of Putin" who was not an "autocrat".
Look, I will side with democracy against dictator aggressors. You think I'm brain washed, but it seems to me you're immersing yourself in conspiracy theories. My assessment is that Putin actually does have the propaganda machinery that media says he has, and that his governance is built on lies, as the western media says it is. And I think I have broad and trustworthy enough sources to make that judgement call.
If we didn't supply them with defensive weapons, they would have lost the war already, and a European democracy of 44 million would have been snuffed out. We will continue supplying them, and that gives them a strong position from which to fight and negotiate. They are free to negotiate whatever solution they want, or simply throw the Russians out by force. That's their call.
