  1.  @jfilmsproductions7289  when Russia fails, as in Ukraine, they obviously make additional preparations and try again. We know this, so if Russia tries and fails sending nukes, how do we respond? We may only have minutes or hours in such a situation.

  2. Swede here. Erdogan has simply been haggling. Likely the primary sticking point has been the blocked sales of F16s from the US to Turkey. Turkey's foreign policy has long been based on not playing favorites much but instead using tough negotiations to leverage its geography and any other advantages it got. Perun has a good vid on Turkey from about 2 months back.

  3. Russia broke the medium range missile treaty through its Iskander system. The US got fed up with it and on Trump's watch, they withdrew from it. Not sure there's anything else holding them back?

  9. The other countries let 200-ish warheads suffice as deterrance (and the US has expended considerable effort in stopping proliferation to new countries). Only the US and Russia had this runaway MAD race. I would guess China will go to parity with Russia and the US.

  10. That's my assumption, at least. The Russians really seem so dysfunctional. Their current assaults on Avdiivka, for instance, are just madness. And at some point, when Russian stores are depleted, it's the production capacity of 140m poor people against that of 1b rich people. But sure, anything could happen. E.g. Trump or China could decide to throw their weight behind Russia.

  12. Putin is both an idiot and skillful, both very careful and reckless. People are complex. But I don't think he'll launch nukes in any situation, because the chances are extreme that it'd be to his and Russia's detriment.
