@mailjasons afaik, most of the nuclear weapons material ever created has now been used in nuclear power generation. It's been diluted into mixed-oxide fuel and burnt in nuclear power plants.

@crushedcornbollgaming8188 afaik most of the warheads are fusion bombs nowadays. They have a multi-stage design where a smaller fission core ignites at least one fusion stage. They wouldn't be as small and strong otherwise.

It's not that we WANT to test it, the question is if we're going to give in to nuclear blackmail or not. Currently we are, but I don't think it's a wise thing to do. Putin wants to live, so why not call his bluff?

@GS-XV they literally haven't. The west went all-in on appeasing Russia even after 2014, and it failed spectacularly. And now we don't even have shells enough.

The Biden policy has been to not test that. Who knows what the reckless Tr-mp might do?

Just like his hero Putin, Tr-mp's unlikely to back down, just like he never apologizes or backs down when he's wrong on facts. He may very well start it because he's too d-mb, reckless or vain to do what's right.
