If something makes chronic pain more tolerable, that's a significant improvement to quality of life right there. I'm glad you found something to help.

The only good thing Aunt Mildred ever did for anyone.

I'm Australian and the idea of living in a "big bong" sounds amazing; not that I've ever tried weed. However, now that I'm retired and it is a legal medical treatment, I might have to start complaining loudly about my occasional knee and back pain to get a bit to try.

It seems like the main intoxicant used by kids in my state is concentrated spray deodorant/spray paint. They spray it into a bag and inhale it to get a high -- and brain damage. If only a bit of weed was more available, perhaps they wouldn't do themselves so much damage.

My 65 year old brother is prescribed cannabis for anxiety and insomnia and he takes it as a tea. He cuts it up and bakes it in the oven for about 20 minutes at I think 180 Celsius to "activate the THC" as he says then makes a cup of tea with about a quarter of a teaspoon which he says does him a lot of good. He's always had problems with his lungs and doesn't want to smoke stuff.

Definitely not saying it's a scam - for legal reasons. Yup, definitely not saying scam.

If they take the fact that the AI could pick out the pizza topping needle as being incongruent as evidence that it is self aware, does that mean that my manager from 20 years ago was not? When asked in my annual performance evaluation what my objectives were for the next 5 years, I quoted Conan the Barbarian and said "To crush my enemies; to see them driven before me and to hear the lamentations of their women." He just signed at the bottom and handed it back to me. Obviously either not self aware or in a way darker place than I'd credited.

I'm glad you posted this video. Many of us from different walks of life have found ourselves in a situation far different from what we expected and had to go along with the silliness just to keep a bit of money flowing in and keep the kids fed. I'm glad you found something that enabled you to use your skills while doing something that gives you a bit more satisfaction. I certainly enjoy your videos, for the information and for the humour. Thank you.

Half the world is of below average intelligence. I keep reminding myself of this and it explains a lot.

Thanks Sabine. I appreciated that rant. I think that everyone past a certain point in their career can relate.

I love when Sabina comes out with something I think I disagree with. It makes me stop and think more deeply about that matter when I may not have thought so much about it previously. I'm still not sure where I fall on this issue but I now look forward to many hours of poking at this issue from all sides.

Maybe they all had asthma from smoking too much. 🤣

The only thing I've ever thought could be improved by a decentralised blockchain is international trade contracts. All the paper-pushing that goes into selling a commodity overseas is crazy; actual bits of paper being couriered to banks who have to assess them and then courier the same paper on to someone overseas who then has to produce the same bits of paper to their bank before payment is approved and then sent electronically and all within tight time-frames. If it could be properly bundled into a self executing contract on a decentralised blockchain so that no one entity can modify it without the changes being visible to all (i.e. add a new term, attach a customs clearance, record bank approval) it could actually be an improvement to business generating actual savings. But "Bored Apes" and Trump NFTs are the shiny that get actual attention. <face palm> 😖

I have a new theory about dinosaurs: Dinosaurs are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and thin again at the far end. And this theory comports with observable facts making it a better and more valuable theory that this guy's.

Gangs make enormous amounts of money by trafficking illegal substances, as they did in the US during the alcohol Prohibition era. If something is legally available, it's often cheaper and better, more consistent quality. Though where I live some people illegally traffic tobacco because the tax is so high that if you can acquire it prior to the point in the supply chain where tax is imposed, you can make enormous profit and still undercut the legal product.
