If something makes chronic pain more tolerable, that's a significant improvement to quality of life right there. I'm glad you found something to help.

I'm Australian and the idea of living in a "big bong" sounds amazing; not that I've ever tried weed. However, now that I'm retired and it is a legal medical treatment, I might have to start complaining loudly about my occasional knee and back pain to get a bit to try.

It seems like the main intoxicant used by kids in my state is concentrated spray deodorant/spray paint. They spray it into a bag and inhale it to get a high -- and brain damage. If only a bit of weed was more available, perhaps they wouldn't do themselves so much damage.

My 65 year old brother is prescribed cannabis for anxiety and insomnia and he takes it as a tea. He cuts it up and bakes it in the oven for about 20 minutes at I think 180 Celsius to "activate the THC" as he says then makes a cup of tea with about a quarter of a teaspoon which he says does him a lot of good. He's always had problems with his lungs and doesn't want to smoke stuff.

Maybe they all had asthma from smoking too much. 🤣

Gangs make enormous amounts of money by trafficking illegal substances, as they did in the US during the alcohol Prohibition era. If something is legally available, it's often cheaper and better, more consistent quality. Though where I live some people illegally traffic tobacco because the tax is so high that if you can acquire it prior to the point in the supply chain where tax is imposed, you can make enormous profit and still undercut the legal product.
