  1. I've always been interested in tech. I taught myself to program for MS DOS in the late 1980's and early 1990's and have continued learning about tech stuff ever since. However, I don't own a single smart device, other than my phone if you can call that smart. A moment's thought about what benefit I would get from a 'smart' door bell vs the cost of losing more control of my personal data as it feeds everything to "the cloud" and home base let alone the dollar cost vs expected life just convince me that going to the door and saying "hello" is not a big imposition.
