Drag queen storytime initially made me think of the old fashioned pantomime 'dame' where a man would be dressed as an older woman in a flamboyant way. Think the Ugly Duchess in Alice in Wonderland. This was meant to be silly and fun and the gag was rolled out again some years ago in the Saint Trinian's movies where the same actor played a girl's villianous father and his sister, the school principal. That stuff didn't hurt kids nor confuse them about gender identity. Kids are very familiar with the fun of dressing up as something they are clearly not and so I don't think that stories read to them by an adult playing "dress ups" would be inherently damaging. However, if there's some kind of sexualised aspect to this - like the twerking bit or sexualised costumes - that seems to me quite wrong and inappropriate.
