No one, who is not brainwashed, believes that Ukraine had anything to do with the Crocus killings. It would be so antithetical to their interests and certainly to their demonstrated moral values. I find it hard to believe that even the Kremlin Goblin would actually allow this to happen to "his" people but then I'm just a human being. What goes through his head is unimaginable to me. We all need to press our governments to boost support for Ukraine once more to ensure that Ukraine can continue this fight with the tools that they need. After all, they are doing this not only for themselves but for the people of all democratic countries.

Putin probably has an old Cat Stevens song playing over and over in his head: "I'm being followed by a Storm Shadow, Storm Shadow, Storm Shadow."

Slava Ukraine. The democratic world stands behind you.

Paying a bit more for fuel and other things is a small price to pay for preserving democracy against totalitarian regimes. The expression "tighten your belt" comes to mind. It originated as a response to feeling hungry - actually not having enough to eat - but you tighten your belt so you don't feel your stomach growling and get on with things. Those of us in countries far from the front lines of this conflict should tighten our belts in order to provide essential support to those who fight this war on our behalf, not complain that their actions make our lives a tiny bit less comfortable.

So frustrating that Putin continues this pointless violence. Russia and he gain nothing by it except infamy. Those of us in democratic countries need to urge our governments to speed up the provision of aid and weapons to Ukraine.

"If they say they won't do it, they will." I remember just before the Russian invasion began there were reports of Russian troops gathering in Belarus near Ukraine's northern border. Various world leaders were saying "It won't happen. Putin has promised." I kept saying "he absolutely will do it. Do these people not see what he's been doing to his own people and do they not know any history?" I was not surprised when the invasion began. What did surprise me was the way Ukrainians responded - fighting back furiously to drive this army, feared by so many, back across the northern border and then maintaining the fight so steadfastly and heroically in the face of huge numbers and huge resources being thrown at them. Ukraine has shown Putin that he is not as powerful as he thought and all this with tremulous, uncertain support from allies and a determined fifth-column of Russian supporting lackeys embedded in those allies. I think that Ukraine is not only teaching Putin a lesson, but Xi Jinping as well; that he needs to think twice before acting on his expansionist urgings. Slava Ukraini.

Trump is well known for making agreements, taking what he wants from them and then not making good on his obligations. It would be very bad for Zelensky to sign an agreement for the rare earths on the basis that security guarantees would then be forthcoming at a later date. Trump would just never come to the table on the security guarantees once he has what he wants. The more I see of Zelensky, the more I admire him. He's a man with true convictions, who works whole-heartedly for the good of his people.

I would be happy to see the dissolution of the Russian Federation if it wasn't for China sitting there waiting to move in on many of the asian republics with small populations but large areas and significant natural resources. The template for what would happen then is played out in Xinjiang with the Uygur people and it's not pretty.

Anna, we feel for you. I'm sure that Europe and the rest of the world will be with Ukraine even if the US pulls out.

Little Anna standing in line with her mum hoping to get some butter is why the fall of the Soviet Union made me feel optimistic; I was thinking that these people and their children now had the chance for a future somewhat like my kids. Elton John had recorded a song called 'Nikita' earlier that really resonated; "Nikita if there comes a time / guns and gates no longer hold you in / and if you're free to make a choice / look towards the west and find a friend." I really hope that your western friends will ramp up the support once the US election hurdle is over and done with. Slava Ukraine 💙💛
