No excuse for botching that conversation - but I’ve had to have a couple of them and it’s just a really hard conversation to have and say the right things when ur trying to balance a very fresh crime and not knowing who may be involved and ur just very aware of trying to not say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Again, they botched it, but it’s easy to judge them for people having never been in that position too.

@ well you completely misunderstood what I said - were they 100% sure it was her daughter that was dead in the car? Because if you’re not 100% without a doubt sure you don’t tell someone their loved one is dead - and lots of weird things happen before someone dies, wouldn’t be the first time it really seemed like the identity of the victim was obvious only to find out it was someone else. And I already said they botched the conversation. But my poster saying they would act like a complete crazy person if it was them WAS acting like they were born yesterday and showing zero recognition for the complexity and difficulty of what the officers were dealing with in that moment.
