“Faith” is required no matter how you explain the world, its origins, humanity and many other of the most basic things about our world. It can be faith in a religion or faith in certain occurrences that are assumed to have happened but can’t be explained. Science can’t actually explain consciousness - and religion explains it based on faith that it is the result of a higher being. Anyone whining about religion is just practicing another sort of religion whether they recognize it and accept it or not. Christian values clearly have produced some superior civilizations which is why people like Dawkins have to admit it.
