Asking for someone’s education level or whether they’ve published books or scientific studies as if that determines whether what they’re saying is true or not is the definition of appeal to authority lol. I have a doctorate level education and have read more science and science related journal articles and books than most clinicians I know and def more than any average Joe that I know. And all of that means literally nothing to this conversation because Sam’s own words prove what I’m saying and anyone who thinks the human mind is the ultimate source of truth in the world is superficially intelligent. Just listening to the mental gymnastics he uses to explain right and wrong is tiring.

Listen to Nicole Shanahan talks about how Zuck got blamed for Hilary losing and how they all CONSPIRED to censor anything negative to Democrats. They did it behind the scenes - they conspired. I don’t have strong feelings on raising the minimum wage other than it usually results in some people being laid off and others making more money and results in higher prices for consumer - see a $15 meal at McDonalds. If the govt did their job and broke up monopolies and stopped actively helping some companies become monopolies then unions would be irrelevant. Otherwise I see unions as a good thing sometimes and a bad thing when they’re abused or their money is used for things the people paying dues would agree with. Paid family leave is fine as long as it’s not some ridiculous amount of time. But again, none of those things even come close to our govt being so beholden to a foreign country that we send our kids to die in some sandbox and we send hundreds of billions to them when we are trillions in debt and have homeless people on every corner having sleep under a bridge.

With the breadth of views on the right at this point if you don’t fit in the left or the right then you’re not just “more nuanced”, you’re likely just very inconsistent in your views and the more you learn and understand things you’ll keep sliding to the right.
