  1. Intellectuals get so caught up in socialism vs communism vs Nazism vs fascism... It's totalitarianisms that is the problem and it's the one thing in common all of those systems end up having.

  2.  @LevisH21  very true... I think sometimes it's people honestly trying to understand history, but I think it's often times people purposefully trying to obfuscate so they can defend socialism. A system of govt that has near unlimited power will ALWAYS be used for evil at some point. Even if it's set up with good intentions, evil people will always gravitate towards the levers of power. It's human nature and no amount of "tweaking" socialism or communism or Marxism will ever lead to a system that is good for the people not in control.

  3. Stupid question really... They both lead to the same place which is totalitarianism and mass oppression, genocide, murder, famine, etc. I think it's time to stop spending time on the academic differences between communist, socialist, fascist, etc and start exposing them for what they are, which are one way roads to authoritarian/totalitarian regimes.
