@marctemura2017 "despite being a communist country.... There are no parks or libraries"... Unless that was a typo I don't think you understand communism. Seeing as how the only parks in communist countries are empty because everyone is in work camps and the only libraries are full of communist propaganda. When I see people like you, saying things like you want them to spend our money on kids and libraries, it just makes me think about battered women who defend their abusers and stay with them. Decades of the federal govt selling us bills based on "for the kids" and "social programs" and "infrastructure" and all we have are gas pipeline that can be shut down by hackers and a public education system that is nearly a complete failure at anything other than indoctrinating kids and a federal govt that is so large, distant and out of control that when we hear about how they wasted "$1.3 million dollars to let 2 college kids study how koozies keep beer cold" we just say oh well and move on. Take a hint, they will never spend money on kids or anything they say they will without wasting 40% of it, giving 40% of it to their friends thru contracts and steal the other 20%. You, your community and your state are the only ones that should be deciding how to spend your money. Letting the federal govt decide who gets what money is like buying a new car every time you run out of gas just because they keep telling you you're better off with a new car anyway so keep giving us all your money.

@MTknitter22 good point... And it's one of the many reasons a centralized federal govt will ALWAYS be corrupted. When the people running things are more than 1000 miles away from over half the country it's inevitable. The founders designed it so that the federal govt would have to stay small (all rights not granted to them specifically go back to the states), but the courts and Congress have perverted and ruined it over the decades with things like 'interstate commerce" laws meaning the fed govt can control anything that can be considered multistage. Or giving them the right to run education or healthcare or you name it. If the people spending our money and making decisions that affect our lives only lived across town they'd have to answer to us face to face and that kind of corruption would be much much more difficult.

@marctemura2017 oh I think we might just misunderstand each other... I totally believe you about China. Maybe just a language misunderstanding. Cheers! And glad you only lived in China for 4 years!

@marctemura2017 oh I don't doubt any of that. I've done enough research on conditions in China that I'm amazed that there are so many Americans that publicly support the CCP. It's sad.

@marctemura2017 oh wow... That's so crazy. I probably know more than the average American about China but I really know nothing about what normal life is like outside of the major cities. Very interesting. Yeah common theme in authoritarian regimes is to overlook drugs/prostitution because it keeps people from thinking about revolution and keeps them poor.

@williamludlow3788 nope.... I used to think the same thing. And while term limits would be a good thing, term limits only apply to elected officials and elected officials aren't the part that's impossible to fix... It's the unelected bureaucrats that make all the regulations, enforce all these insane laws and rules and waste all our money and term limits won't get rid of them. The federal govt just shouldn't have ever been allowed to get this massive and unweidly cuz now it's got a life of it's own totally separate from people at elect.
