@icin4d haha if you think DC isn't "represented" in Congress then you just be living under a rock... Nearly everyone IN Congress has a residence there and lives there sometimes most of the year, so in fact, DC has more representation than any other state already, no way do they need to become a state.

@icin4d the last thing this country needs is people that live in the DC bubble having anymore control over the rest of the country. Period. There are zero legitimate arguments for giving a town full of politicians and lobbyists the same legal input into Congress as say a state the size of Texas with millions of actual working Americans in it. Blah blah blah taxation without representation in reference to DC is just a word game that totally disregards the entire spirit of that motto.

@icin4d lmao... You don't understand the origin or spirit of that saying. The colonists were getting taxed by a King thousands of miles away and had no input in what went on in the colonies. "Representation" doesn't just mean voting for Senators. The people in DC are represented, likely more than any other city in the entire country. The entire city is full of people who live off the govt, off of taxpayer dollars. They don't get a seat at the table like every other state. Whine all you want, say "no taxation without representation" all you want. It's not in the county's best interest to give DC any more say over the rest of the country. Which is why it still isn't a state.
