No, they’d set YOUR house on fire to get warm in the winter. Believe me, their house isn’t the one getting destroyed.

@ I’ve worked for both publicly traded and privately held companies and owned/operated a business at a high level (9 figure revenue size). On the balance working for a privately held company is typically a better experience for employees but comes with risks like the business being sold and turned upside down, the owners/managers being a-holes, etc. The same greed that motivates PE firms can also motivate individual or partner owners. Publicly traded companies are usually more stable and organized which some employees prefer. It’s similar to the difference in living under a democracy vs a monarchy. If u have a good king then it’s awesome, a bad king can make it hell. Democracy is fine as long as you agree with the majority or society isn’t totally corrupt and then it’s crap. They both have advantages and disadvantages - but I agree that privately held is preferable in most cases - again, it’s the manager/owners that have integrity that can make either one a good place to work

It’s not whether it’s private or publicly traded or whether the CEOs bonus is based on company profit (because that’s effectively always the case) - it’s very simple, do the people running the company have integrity and care about their people? If so, then they will make decisions that benefit their people and their company. If not, the people are screwed. It’s that simple, regardless of the social or economic system one is in.

And people think it’s either the company’s fault or the “lazy” people’s fault… it’s the govts fault for printing so much freaking money inflation is so high no one can afford anything and so no one can afford to work a job for $25/hr anymore and expect to pay all their bills.
