Just like plumbers are all individuals but have similar experiences and skills and that's why we have a word to describe such groups of people.

Ability to read maps, read the land, navigate without cellphones or GPS More than basic survival skills including making fire, setting up a shelter, and actual experience doing those things Ability to stalk/track and kill game as well as field dress and pack it out Extensive knowledge of the areas they operate in, the landmarks, rivers, mountains, etc How to handle wild animal encounters What it takes to pack for a multiple day trip in the bush, what to take and what to leave Ability to spot signs of both animals and humans in order stay aware of their surroundings How to read the weather and be prepared, what makes a good campsite I mean I could go on but maybe you get the picture.

  7.  @eclipsewrecker  also, plumbers are part of a regulated profession - but a commercial plumber might have very little knowledge of residential codes and procedures - just like an orthopedic surgeon won't be up to speed on the latest cardiac stents.
