  1. I remember swapping out the cat on my first racecar, most we won was mid range torque, like between 3500 and 5500 rpm the engine was a ton faster. Of course we made a bit more peak power but mid range torque was the biggest improvement on an old BMW E30 325. In figures it's nothing special as your bank runs showed, but in driving feel it made a huge difference.
