Honestly I've had 2 used cars and 1 new car. The new car my mom bought in 1998 and started rusting as new, kept doing this till I ditched it in 2012. The 2 used cars Are from 2012 (bought it when it was 10 years old) and 2008 (bought it last year at 12 years old), minus the airco (got screwed by an official brand dealer on that one....)and some minor stuff both run like a champ. The 2008 one has a few pits of rust in the roof from little stones on the highway, the 2002 one had rust on the bonnet from a stone as well. On the 1998 "new" car I've had to replace the drive shafts TWICE in 6 years, not even on my RACECAR do the shafts go that quick. So, it depends on the car you buy really :)
