I agree. Was in the game for 40yrs, graduated in 82. The caliber of patient has done a 180 shift since then. Not only are they abusive, but thanks to the internet, many think they know your job and what you are supposed to do for them, not to mention lots of them are emotionally unstable, to put it politely. I was a bedside nurse, and I loved the hell out of it, but the acuity level is so high, and so many people are admitted to the hospital in very sick condition. It’s a burnout profession. Nurses are angels who walk among us. We enter the profession for the right reasons, but it’s a rude awakening. I pray for all of you, doctors too. They work the crap outta NP’s and PA’s as well. The only way I would do it over is to become a nurse anesthetist. God bless you all♥️
