we aren't exactly puppets (other than to our own brain) we can aim for goals, as long as we are unable to see the future we can imagine we have free will, but whether we achieve that goal is already determined, not by "fate" but by our own abilities, i wanted a graphics degree, i had no idea if i could get it or not, but so i aimed for that.

you have a choice between A or B. for the choice to be valid, both A and B have to have equal value - you can't in fact make your mind up if they do. they are both equally appealing. once you decide (!) one has more value / appeal than the other, bang goes your free will, it's no longer a choice. if you prefer A you cannot prefer B and vice versa. it's not a choice, you're limited to ONE ACTION.
you either do things for reasons - determined, or you do things randomly - same thing. if you can provide a third way...
