  1. us lefties aren't entirely anti-righty, in fact i'm constantly reminding people that government is supposed to work WITH the opposition to make sure everyone is represented, it's a pity that these days (or in the recent past at least) it's been a case of "we won, get over it". sure one party one the election, that doesn't mean the other side can be pushed into mass graves.

  2. i've been quite a successful artist most of my career, but i have failed miserably when it comes to self employment, UBI allows people to fail - and keep trying. but the most important thing to me is it will get people off the streets, poverty just shouldn't be happening when we are shooting people off into space, homelessness in the 21st century is outrageous.

  3. i've been pushing for UBI for years, if you scrolled back far enough on my facebook you'll see at one point almost nothing else. no one was interested, it felt increasingingly that people LOVE other people living in poverty, i'm kinda glad this pandemic is opening eyes to the fact that ANYONE can fall on hard times and it's NO ONES fault when these things happen, and that we ALL need help. thnaks for your show by the way, not a dud in there. maybe you'll cover it but there have been lots of trials, and trials of different methods (a native american tribe (?is that the PC term??) has a casino that supplies them with UBI for instance. (edit - ah, addressed). (yet) :)

  4. one thing i keep pointing out to the "they'll just waste it on booze" brigade is - how many millionaires give up working? people ALWAYS want more, give people $1000 and they'll still work cos that 1k is suddenly a bonus. you have to be really lazy or badly addicted to waste this money. and who cares anyway? let people waste their lives if they want, it's how YOU spend your life and money that matters.
