i was told (i'm an artist) that monet's colour palette changed as he got older, that our eyes wear out and the colour range get's worse, however recently i have noticed flowers are really vivid colours, reds and oranges in particular, as well as yellows, and i was wondering if instead of my eyesight "getting worse" it's actually changing and taking in some ultra violet? as flowers appear really bright even on sunny days...
light isn't made up of different colours, it is made up of photons which are all the same colour, but have different energy levels that create different wavelengths, it's our brain that looks at the wavelengths then assigns it a colour - your brain might assign red to one wavelength, you label that colour red, i also label that colour red, but MY brain might "see" blue....there is no way to know what actual colour anyone sees.
