  1. lately i've been picturing "dark energy" as a solid, or liquid, it's hard to imagine "nothing" expanding, i find it easier to picture the universe as a "solid" block with it, and everything in it, getting bigger uniformly. there is a really good animation that uses actual star / galaxy data to do a "trio" around the observed universe that helps too.

  3. trouble is the universe doesn't really care what you might think and the universe is what the universe is, saying it's infinite is as useful as saying it's two inches across.
