way back in 2014 i had this idea for becoming an open mic night star, but i can't sing. so i advertised for a singer and one person stood out, we were trying to cover something that wasn't really her style so when we had a break i sat just strumming and out of nowhere she came up with these lyrics, and the magic was although i'm not a great musician, i happened to do the right chord changes at the right time and we had the opening of a song (it's on my channel if you scroll back a bit, called "wild try". i later found out my singer had mental health issues and we never managed to finish anything we started, which was annoying because she could invent great lyrics on the spot straight out of her head (she has published poetry and made various demos) most annoying is a song called "smooth sailing" that i thought had potential as a hit - i actually thought she'd (accidentally) plagiarized it from somewhere as it sounded like a hit record, but no. but - just another song that never got finished. (it might be in the jam session video that follows wild try - not that anyone will look - lol).
