i'm on elon's side, but the elevator is only going in one direction, there isn't an elevator coming at it from the other, it's usually in it's own lane, and it has a mechanical braking system that is pretty much foolproof, not killing your passengers is a lot more complicated in a car where a tree or a rock can fall on your head.
32:00 this is like the fine tuning argument, from inside there is no way to tell if it's just the way it is or if it is "designed", a competent designer who wanted us to think this is reality would make it so that any numbers would appear natural, any numbers would "work". as far as nature is concerned all the numbers are "1". the speed of light is "1", the speed of sound is "1", nature doesn't care about decimal places.
