i just turned 70, both my parents died around 72-74 so i wonder at what moment i'll be popping my clogs, it is an interesting feeling. i'm an artist though and i say that i'm still getting used to being 17, i still hear mum calling up to me when i wake up "time to go to school" but these days i can ignore her and stay in bed till 11 every day. but i just took up sculpture, i still go on photographic expeditions to a new place as often as i can, i just started playing fallout 4 (level 122 already) and although my health could be a lot better, at least my son thinks i'll be around for a long time. i have been incredibly lucky in lots of ways my whole life, so maybe i'm the exception, but to me life is what you make of it, the crap stuff just has to be dealt with but the enjoyable stuff needs to be appreciated, i'm an optimist. let's get to mars is what i say, i want to draw martian sand dunes.

@Bobby-k2q i'm rambling, it's called rambling, stream of consciousness. a comment on the movie where a guy is losing his mind, this is how i keep my own sanity. sorry you can't get your head around it, i try to be clear but i'm not responsible for other people's intelligence levels.

what is good about this film is he is both the bad guy and the good guy, and life is a bit like that. i'm constantly trying to make up for my bad points, but when i do an inventory, it appears to be harder to find the bad stuff.

@jackjones9460 nope the three of us had christmas eve dinner (cooked by the boy) and got drunk, argued and fell asleep watching "predestination", we get along fine. she divorced me cos i'm too independent for a relationship, and not grown up enough to put up that shelf or go get a job when i'm ordered, but she's marvelous person even if i am not (she's japanese), i laid her patio and painted her conservatory and front door and hallway - i want her to happy. she has a new man and my son approves of him and i'm okay with that. my philosophy is that marriage was meant to be a lifetime job, divorce means we can hitch ourselves to someone else if we want (and i did too for a while) but to me we will always be married. i don't get how people divorce and then stab each other in the back - that's a bad choice of partner in the first place -ALL my girlfriends have been amazing people, they all dumped me, but i think none of them would reject going for a drink or dinner. also we got married on april 1st 1995 and divorce was official on 1st april 2015 - i like irony and symmetry.

@glennbeadshaw727 agreed, if you want to buy me out of my flat i could move somewhere new and spend a year or two just doing art.
