  1. i could say pretty much the same, although i'm hoping the ending to my friends story is a little more upbeat, but my friend was incredibly talented and well worth the pain, if my own health had been better i would have persevered, but, well im heading rapidly towards 70.

  6. i've been close to someone, and i have a carers certification for schizophrenia and just to say that although people having psychotic episodes act in a way that appears threatening at least in the case i've been dealing with it's entirely harmless. while hallucinating a schizophrenic can feel they are being attacked and their erratic behaviour is really that they are defending themselves. and to emphasise what you said in the opening before budget cuts to mental healthcare (in the UK) i used to go to "carers support" as often as i could, they look after the mental health of people like me who are in turn looking after someone with mental health issues, as i often needed advice both for my friend and myself.
