  2. old man speaking here so ignore me if you want, but when i was a kid and when i was a teenager the BBC used to put on educational programs in "down time", us kids had mini documentaries about how stuff was made, during the daytime and then us teens had the open university giving, well, university courses, to anyone who would watch at 2 AM, it's kinda where i got my big brain from. tv was educating us without us knowing it. now we suffer interminable reality shows that teach you how to be monkeys, not humans. i bet you a large sum of money if you cut 50% of reality shows and put on modern "open university" programs instead you'd have a much less ignorant population. people are dumb - but they don't want to be, it's just easy.
