  2.  @justaperson4423  watch the movie "the butterfly effect" with aston kutcher, disturbing or what. although the phrase is older, i think ray bradbury popularised the idea with his dinosaur hunt story, where the guys return to their "present" only to find everyone is nazis, or summit.

  5. i'm up in in 2035 and it's quite lovely, obama got re-elected and dealt with the climate change issues so that now, when it's a cool but sunny day, we say "it's obalmy weather".

  10. just for the record, i'm rewatching heroes, and it's got to the episode where hiro nakamura has to ditch the princess and get back to work, and i was thinking, heck, he can stay with the princess for as long as he likes and still return to the point in time that he left - only he can't - he will be older. if he stays with the princess for an hour maybe that's okay, he can return to the point he left and no one the wiser, but if he stays with the princess a week, a month, a year, ten years, he is getting closer to his appointment with death, he is getting older. which requires the question, what happens to the time traveller while "in time"? if metabolism stops at the point of departure - he won't be able to move, he will be locked in that split second of leaving, if he gets older, the nwhat if he doesn't return to his own ime, he's extra material to the universe he visits, if he can't get back the the point of departure there will be no balance. just thinking out loud mr tube.

  13. i just watched a vid where they say schroedingers cat continues to be in both states, dead and alive, when you open the box, however "you" experience the live cat and "parallel you" experiences the dead cat , opening the box means "you" become entagled with whichever state the cat is in, but, there are still two states, dead and alive.
