  1. sorry if you've seen me ask this before, but still i'm maybe missing something. when we look out at the edge of the visible universe we're looking at galaxies that formed early on - but early on wasn't all that stuff here where we are now? i know ths ingularity idea has been dropped (i think) but if we're expanding then 13 billion years ago everything was closer together, so on day one of the universe all that stuff that is now at the edge of the universe was, well, right here in my bedroom, surely? what am i missing?
