  1. what popped into my mind in the first few seconds of this was the wright brothers. in the early days of flight, not even space flight, how many planes just failed? how many pilots lost their lives? aren't there a ton of parallels between us trying to toddle into the air and us trying to toddle into space? i have to admit it might be that we will never overcome the faster than light thing, and that might condemn us to life in our galaxy, but really? have we never found a work around at least to our problems? surely just to ask the question "how will we warp space in order to travel faster than light" means a solution is at least theoretical?
