elections are now all about who has the most money, so whoeevr you get they want a return, they are not the least interested in the population other than "how much can i get away with and still have them vote for me". in the UK we need to ditch the house of lords and replace it with a house of experts, scientists, as the virus prediction in this shows. instead of throwing huge amounts of money at a campaign, campaign funds should be divided equally between all the candiddates (off the top of my head). the idea of election was you picked someone you thought would be good at the job, YOU picked them, they may not have even wanted the job, it should be more that way.
