  1. This shows how our Nation was born of compromise and the balancing of ideas and ideals. It is sad that now, that not only is that truth all but forgotten by the politics of our times, but that the very word and idea has gone from being something that strengthened us, to now being considered a weakness and to be avoided at all costs, by those we have elected to govern us. Where are the Roger Shermans of our generation that we so sadly and badly need!
