sorry Meta's Horizon looks like Second Life from 10 years ago! Just played using a VR headset, which btw is also supported by Second Life. Even the build tools in Horizon looks like they were lifted from the old OpenSim/Second Life server software of years past.

@kaprica.1 Yes and if you haven't looked at Second Life recently, you would be amazed on how much it has changed visually with the addition of "sculpties" and mesh objects.

Don't forget there are still live performers in Second Life you can go listen to. I know of several that bring their music in to Second Life, including two wonderful singers a great guitar player and a professional saxophone player.

@kaprica.1 It's very mixed, some very creative people have left, other creators and places are still going strong. As an example Carrie Snowpaw and her clothing shop Snowpaws, is still in world, A Touch of Ireland, one of my favorites, is long gone (sighs), the club the Blue Note (waves to Nay) is still popular, but Jade's Jazz Island is a thing of the past. But for every now closed location, there are many new ones to discover.

You do know that Second Life supports Oculus Headsets (or did?) The problems of VR headsets were very apparent so few continued to use them.

You do know that the Oculus headset was supported by Second Life but those that used it found no advantage and lots of issues (fatigue and headaches) the same happens now with VR most don't spend long periods of time using it for the same reasons. It's cool for short times, but what about that 2 hour business meeting? Isn't the Metaverse about bringing business back to VR?

@jaysonp9426 Yes to each their own, I've been in SL for 15 years and have seen how it has evolved, I stay for the friends I've made oh and the live music

Welcome back to 2003 and Second Life! Yeah all Iv'e seen of the metaverse is what Second Life provided over 15 years ago. The real difference is that Second Life has gotten much better graphics these days and "mesh" while the metaverse still seems stuck in 2003.

History repeats! Just like it was in Second Life. And just like in Second Life, it will blow up with more losers than winners.
