  1. I have to speak up for the French! It is the people of PARIS that gives the country it's reputation for being rude, they revel in it, go to other places and the people are friendly and kind.

  2. Reputation for being rude in the US is regional! (points finger at New York City and a few other east coast cities!) Some regions have the opposite reputation such as the mid-west. Like most reputations, it really comes down to the time, place and people involved. Some of the nicest people I've met were in the heart of New York City, one of the most rude was in St. Paul MN.
