The idea is to give you both options, from a box magazine or from the tube mag if you drop or lose the box mag. Personally after watching this I'm not interested in them at all and will stick the rifles I have.

There were two different S&W Victory models, the ones made for the UK as part of the lend lease program, used the .38-200 round which was the same as the older .38 S&W that the .38 special replaced. This was the standard loading for the Enfield revolvers. The ones made for use by US Military were always chambered in .38 special, are so marked on the barrel and are safe to shoot that round.

YES! The Colt and S&W model of 1917 chambered in .45 APC were manufactured for WW1! The .38-200 and .38 special S&W Victory models were produced for the UK and US military during WW2 and had a parkerized finish as apposed to the standard blue.
