I think you are baited into this by Musk. This Hyperloop nearly requires any spectacular technology, nor it could ever be an advantage compared to an open-air highspeed train. What if this "prototype" tube actually had a vacuum and a high-speed vehicle inside, who would care? What is an advantage is a succesfull Youtube channel with a Musk flag on top of it for free... Now let's watch a SpaceX launch...
