  1. Rapid online is doable. I once passed 1800 on lichess. Took me 12 years, though. It's mostly opening speed to gain advantage, thus memory of as much played games as possible to get in a superior position and use the remaining seconds to win on material. Sort of reflex-training, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy appears to have abnormal memory capabilities. Can he remember a pack of shuffled cards?
