  1. Someday, I hope we'll find a 'Rosetta Stone' for Pictish symbols, with old Erse on one side and Pictish symbols on the other. There was such an interplay between Gael and Pict, or even Pict and Briton that something, even an early manuscript, must turn up ... eventually. Until then 'the Wee Dark Men (and women)' will seem almost myth like, despite all the physical evidence we have for their culture. Maybe even the Romans may come to our rescue on this one.
