Sister, we speak with the same voice; although I started to feel better when I realised that therapists are bound up in their own world model. Simply giving myself time, rather than looking towards others for answers, helped me more than anything. I also learnt to let others make their own mistakes rather than trying to steer them away from their pitfalls took a great weight off my shoulders. I often say that I used to work with people with mental health issues until I finally caught it. I still find myself tutting at myself but letting the cat fall asleep on my arm helps (although she loves the radiator much more than me !) Know that you are a wonderful, intelligent and caring person, despite the past, and live in the day.
