  1. actually, youtube does support caption positioning, you just have to use a separate program to edit them and a supporting file format (like WebVTT, TTML or the broadcast file formats)

  2. about the intro radio example - i was skeptical about how it was possible to find the specific model of the radio just by looking at the picture, but i guess every model did look different enough back in the day. because nowadays manufacturers seem to love keeping the same case, maybe changing some microscopic detail about it, but changing the insides for the sake of cost-cutting. a while ago i actually had to search for a remote for a circa-2010 samsung tv, and i found a LOT of identical remotes. so identical, in fact, that i noticed that the new one i got had a 3d button, which mine doesn't have support for. it still worked well with the tv, but it might as easily not have worked. oh and i found the original remote when me and my mom were moving lol
