  1. You could work in a shop in 1950s, 60s, 70s till the early 80s and still afford to buy a home now it is next to impossible. Then the councils who only care about is building more flats and houses so they rake in council tax. Everything is expensive, greedy landlords hiking rents ever more, council business rates, environmental taxes, zealous parking wardens, customers not being able to park their cars. Its too much.
