@mudfossiluniversity I agree that our microbiome can be a huge constraint to wellness. As I understand it, gut bacteria produces vitamins that make minerals absorbable. Minerals, of course, then run our enzyme systems (copper in Ceruloplasmin) and play a key roll in our cellular fuel (Mg-ATP; ATP being worthless all by itself). As you know, all hormones and all neurotransmitters are produced by enzymes, so if they are mineral deficient, both those can go wonky. The microbiome probably does a lot more (would like to hear what you know!), like help manage our alkaline / acid balance and producing biochemicals that keep us centered and in the "well zone."
Have you heard of Livingstreams liquid probiotics? They have a 50% off sale every December, so if you want to test them out, that would be the time to do it.
Is a stool test the only way to gauge relatively precise gut bacteria status?
I'm REALLY interested in learning the precise mechanics of food-based mineral and metallic mineral absorption and utilization by the body I suspect the metallic form (say, copper in copper pipes or birth control) is much more prone to creating heavy metal toxicity by resisting ceruloplasmin binding than is copper found in quality liver, or even avocado.
The magnesome and cupro-enzyme systems are critical, but most people are almost certainly significantly deficient, relative to optimal, anyway, in both My and Cu.
I have a theory that human energy is ultimately defined by surplus useable electron ingestion relative to useable electron elimination. You need both the electron ingestion, and the nutrient ingestion to fuel the electron processors in the human body.
Toxins ultimately screw up useable electron processing. Denutrification ultimately limits useable electrons.
Combine the two for long enough time, and you end up with a Wal-martian social structure. And that's the tip of the iceberg.
