They believe unfit bloodlines deserve to die off, so they finance a system to do exactly that. It's their planet, and you are just visiting, and they view every other bloodline (family) as they threat to their bloodline's supremacy. In their view, anyone who believes a serial lying government and mindlessly takes a toxin are, by definition, unfit... only the fit survive, right?
