  2. Is the point of prisons to get revenge on others or to make society safer? The Nordic countries seem to be doing a lot better if it’s the latter. America on the other hand incentivizes the political system to imprison people because there are private prisons that turn a profit and then provide huge campaign donations to politicians who approve their conduct.
