Russia controls the Northeast passage, all foreign ships needs permission to travel thru it plus use a Russian pilot. Why are the US and Russia talking about Arctic Trade Routes, exploration when the trade routes are within Canada and Russia not the US? In 2024, the U.S. imported about 3.2 million tons of aluminum from Canada, which was more than half of the U.S.'s foreign aluminum supply. Trump is adding 25% tariffs to Canadian aluminum. Canadian aluminum supports key industries in the U.S., including defense, shipbuilding, and auto. Seems Trump intends to replace Canadian aluminum with Russian aluminum. Musk, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson all endorsed Canada's far right conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.
