I'm not as sure about that as you are, after seeing an article by Reuters Dark Arctic or on YouTube " Geopolitical tensions between NATO and Russia increase in the Arctic | DW News " or "Putin's advances in the Arctic | DW Documentary" or " Russia launches sea-based hypersonic missiles in show of force" etc. There are now about eight modern military bases fulled armed with nuclear weapons, submarines and ice breakers plus industrial bases with Russians living there all year round. The Arctic countries of NATO are concerned have done drills and are increasing security.
