  2. ​ @drkastenbrot Nops have very discernible power consumption. You want logic to make the same number of transitions regardless of the result, which is tricky when carry chains are involved. Or you want to make transitions indistinguishable, like with adiabatic logic. And either way you want a constant time algorithm. If you want a software solution, look at homomorphic encryption. Not knowing the key can help to not reveal it.
